From November to March, migratory ducks arrive at the birding hotspot from Central Asia and China, transforming the shoreline into a vibrant spectacle of life. The Pong Reservoir itself is a designated Ramsar bird sanctuary.  Whatever the season, a visit to Dharamkot, just a two-hour drive from Vayu Kutir is always a treat! Traversing the narrow lanes of the small town, which mostly comprises homestays and cafes, you leave the world that you come from far behind.  It tends to be crowded on weekends.
