Nangal Chowk - Breathtaking Scenic Escape

Nangal Chowk - Winter View

Vayu Kutir offers more than just solace and communion with nature—it opens the door to a range of breathtaking scenic escapes nearby.

One such gem is Nangal Chowk, nestled along the banks of the Pong Reservoir, just 18 km from Vayu Kutir. An iconic lone peepul tree on the lakeside at Nangal Chowk marks a superb vantage point to soak in the serene majesty of nature.

A sojourn to Nangal Chowk is exhilarating on a fine day from October to April, when the lake waters are blue and the snow-clad Dhauladhar mountains are clearly visible in the backdrop. From November to March, migratory ducks arrive at the birding hotspot from Central Asia and China, transforming the shoreline into a vibrant spectacle of life. The Pong Reservoir itself is a designated Ramsar bird sanctuary.

On clear days, with good visibility, even the distant snow-clad peaks of the Pir Panjal range reveal themselves on the horizon—quiet, majestic, unforgettable.

Nangal Chowk - Monsoon Season

Nangal Chowk doesn't lose its allure during the summer and monsoon months. During summer or monsoon mornings, it is a delight to watch the serene waters of the reservoir and savor the cool, fresh breeze.

A walk along the vast stony shores of the reservoir is both invigorating and grounding—an experience that deepens bonds and leaves behind lasting memories.

A day spent at Nangal Chowk doesn’t just refresh the senses—it lingers within you, quietly enriching your sense of well-being.
